Background

RAOC is a non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian organization existing solely for the benefit of its employees. With financial support from industry, local, state, and federal governing bodies, and private funding, RAOC has provided center-based employment for people with disabilities for over 38 years. There are presently 45 employees that work and receive training at the Center. Most were referred by the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services, the Rockbridge Area Community Services Board, or other social service agencies. Sixty-two percent are mentally retarded and 38% have emotional and physical disabilities. All live with some form of severe or multiple disabilities. About 48% are men and 52% women ranging in age from 18 to over 70.

The Center presently has the following positions open:

1. Vocational Counselor/Job Coach - Perform vocational rehab services to individuals with disabilities. Degree in rehab or current certification as rehab counselor required. Paid experience in vocational counseling, vocational assessment, vocational placement, or other areas of rehab counseling preferred. Send resume/letter inquiry: raoc@ntelos.net.
